When my husband came home from war, I was completely unprepared for the invisible wounds he carried home with him. Looking back, I can see that each deployment changed him in ways that were subtle at first, almost impossible to recognize. With two young children to care for and the demands of everyday life, I did not always see the signs for what they were. What once seemed small or easy to explain, I now recognize as some of the earliest signs of PTSD.
